why choose loisann shannon photography

Because you deserve the best performance photos without distractions.

Most concert halls and theaters are carefully designed to carry sound throughout the space to ensure those sitting in the back can hear as well as audience members sitting close to the stage. Unfortunately, this means that the click of a camera can be heard in surround-sound no matter where the photographer is shooting from. I remember dancing at the Tivoli Theater in Chattanooga and being able to distinctly hear the click of the photographer's camera at the back of the theater. It was unnerving! Additionally, although the stage may seem very bright, in reality, it isn't. It's actually very unevenly lit. Stage photography is almost a science in determining how slow one can shoot to get enough light and still get a sharp photo. Often, the settings change each time the lighting changes, which can be multiple times during any given choreography. For the safety of the performers, flash photography is never appropriate for stage performances.

My goal is to take the best live photos while not disturbing either the performers who've worked so hard to prepare, or audience members who've come to witness the magic!
